Warner Bros

Here at Warner Bros. we were taken on a tour of some of the sets of TV shows and movies. The first set we went to had a blue stone cabin, a typical old american style house and a pond, that is used in shows such True Blood and Hart of Dixie. It is quite amazing how one set can be used for many different shows and movies and yet look so different.

On this tour we got to see the Friends set also and had our photo taken on their couch at Central Perk.

We toured through the props warehouse and also a car mueseum.

Of course we had arrived in Los Angeles during the Christmas period so the majority of TV programs and films that were currently being created at Warner Brothers Studios had shut down for the holidays, But we were able to have a private work through of the soundstage where The Mentalist is currently filming. We were unable to bring our cameras into this area due to copyright, but it was enjoyable to see how it is all done. It's not what it looks like on TV! It is funny seeing staircases go nowhere for instance.

My favourite part was probably seeing the area of the front lot where there was a large building which looked like a town or council building. It looked so familiar and I started to reel off some of the movies I thought that I had seen this particular set involved in. And then our tour guide said it, it was used in the filming of Back to the Future where Doc gets struck by lightning as the car flies down the street. You do get a buzz knowing you are standing right where it was filmed.
